![]() This 396 is set up with the GM Intake and Quadrajet Carburetor. It's mated to the '69 model Turbo 400 Trans and the 12 Bolt Rear End with around 3.07 gears. Under the hood it features a '69 Model 元4 396 350HP engine with the JC suffix code. You'll also notice this a factory AC car and it's working as well! To finish off the interior it does have the spare and jack behind the passenger side seat.įinally, we will get to the heartbeat of this Chevy. The radio is also working and has been upgraded from the stock unit. As expected the Speedo and Gas Gauge are working as they should. The dash pad is also in excellent condition and the gauges look awesome as well. Looking at the door panels, carpet, and headliner you will notice they are also done in black and appear to have been replaced when the restoration was done. The bench seat is in great condition along with the cover that shows no signs of rips or tears. On the inside it's done in the classic black which flows perfectly with the exterior color scheme. Next, we will look on the interior of this '69. To finish off the exterior it's sitting on a set of 14” SS Wheels and a set of Cooper Cobra Tires. One of the best accents for this model El Camino is the all the Chrome and Stainless that gives it that iconic design of the late '60's. Inside the bed is all solid and is painted body color. The paint is base coat clear coat and has been buffed and polished to a gorgeous shine. Everything is covered in the Garnett Red Paint that is accented by the Black stripes and the black vinyl top. The body is straight down the sides and all of gaps and body lines are excellent. One of the first things you'll notice is how great all the panels, doors, and bed fit on this '69. This car features a stunning color combination and offers some great driver options like the Factory AC and the Big Block 396 engine. Up for sale we have a beautiful 1969 Chevrolet El Camino SS. FWIW El Caminos are Chevelles, why they're always listed as a separate species is beyond me except that's the accepted norm.1969 Chevrolet El Camino SS 396 Factory AC Power Disc Brakes 12 Bolt Automatic One does a disservice to the Chevelle community when one comes up with a number out of the air then tries to base facts against that number. There is probably some equation that'll take into account no LS6 Chevelles in 1970 for Canada thereby applying those 4475 cars proportionally equal among the other 6 plants and take into account the El Caminos were only built at 3 plants these 4 years and apply those numbers the same way thereby increasing the number of SS Chevelles probably built at those 3 plants but I think you get my point. That gives a total for KC built SS optioned Chevelles at 51,535.Īdd in the fact that only 3 plants built the El Camino body style for those 4 years (and Canada built no LS6 Chevelles at all) and the number of SS options sold each year would be GREATER since the percentage of Chevelles each year would be higher and, well, you see what I'm getting at. The KC plant built 27% of all Chevelles so KC must have produced 27% of the SS cars in 1972, or about 6,750. The KC plant built 27% of all Chevelles so KC must have produced 27% of the SS cars in 1971, or about 5,221. The KC plant built 18.5% of all Chevelles so KC must have produced 18.5% of all SS cars in 1970, or about 11,564. The KC plant built 33% of all Chevelles so KC must have produced 33% of all SS cars in 1969, or about 28000.ġ970 had 62,372 SS options sold. So we'll calculate the even distribution of each.not factual but not bias either.īut, using the published figures for production by series/body style let's do a quick look-see see what happens for KC.ġ969 had 86,307 SS options sold. Nobody knows how many SS options were sold through a single plant, only the number of SS options sold total. Like the 68-72 poster done years ago that attemtped to show the number of any particular series/body style that could have been ordered with combinations of SS-related options, nobody knows the real numbers of how many of any particular series or body style was produced at each plant, only a total for that series/body style. with my emphasis placed on possibly and nearly has no real validity in the factual world.
